The Best Linux Distributions For Beginners.

Are you a new user looking to get into Linux? If so you are going to have to pick a distribution. A distribution is an offset of Linux that has, or doesn’t have certain things. For example, there is arch which has almost nothing at a base install, While Ubuntu has a lot of software coming with it. In this blog, I will try to give some recommendations. These distributions will not only come with the majority of the software and drivers that you need, but they will allow you to install and use any software thaat you want to install easily.

#1: Linux Mint

In my opinion, this is the best distribution for users of windows. The cinnamon, Mate, and XFCE desktops have been made to look and feel like windows 7 or windows 10. This is personally the one that I started out on. It is even better for beginners because it has a software center where you can get all of the applications that you need. It also has a panel applet that allows you to update the system in a few clicks.

#2: Manjaro:

You may not associate being based on arch with being easy for beginners, but that is exactly what Manjaro sets out to do. The desktop is a lot like windows 7 or 10, and due to the bleeding edge aspect of arch you will always get the newest versions of software. The software center allows you to install almost anything that you would ever need. Including some proprietary software.

#3: Pop! OS

Pop OS does not have the “regular” desktop that you might be associated with. It uses Gnome 3 witch may take some getting used to. Once you get used to it, it can be really easy to use. Pop! OS is also already configured for gaming. So it is a good choice for gaming. Pop OS also has the Pop Shop. Based on the elementary OS software canter, it allows you to install anything with just one click.

While these are not the only distributions that are good for beginners, they are the ones that I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of Linux. If you want to use Linux in the workplace, for gaming, or just for regular internet browsing these 3 are some of the best.
